Writing a travel blog can be challenging. However, knowing what to do can make the process much easier. That is why we are writing this article.

First, you should select a niche you are passionate about. It makes sense to write a travel blog if you are passionate about traveling. It would be easy to lose motivation along the way, so make sure you love what you do.

Travel blogging can be rewarding, and you can make a career out of it, so write as if your life depends on it because it does. You can also make it a hobby that you can enjoy writing during your free time.

Marc Anthony said, “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” It is true because it does not feel like working, but you enjoy doing it.

Not that we covered the importance of choosing a topic that you are passionate about. Hopefully, your fair and doubt will fade away.

It is time to start talking about the essential steps of writing a great travel blog post that educational and informative to the reader.

1. Determine your target niche.

Google prefers a specific niche. The more specific your niche is, the better. In other words, you should narrow your travel niche to be specific and limited to a certain area.

Find your loyal fans by knowing your target niche. The more specific it is, the better.

For instance, instead of a general travel blog, you can narrow it down to the country you live in and write about that. This way, you will be an expert in a particular niche. Google loves that. Thus, you will rank better.

2. Outline interesting content ideas related to your niche.

Make a spreadsheet with all the ideas about the blog post you are writing about. Listing ideas can make your write faster and more organized. For faster writing, know the topic you want to write about beforehand.

For example, list 100 topics you want to write about throughout the year, and then write 3 or 2 blogs weekly.

Now that you know the topics you want to write about. You can make a spreadsheet for this topic and start listing some ideas. After listing the ideas, you can divide them into bolt points for the blog post.

3. Be strategic when choosing target keywords for your content.

Having the blog post well-written is one thing, but targeting a specific keyword is a must. Thus, make sure to know your target keyword.

A well-written post doesn’t only include great writing but strategically chosen keywords.

For instance, traveling to the United States or visiting the United States is the same topic but worded differently. However, one has a higher search and ranking difficulty than the other.

Traveling to the United States has a higher search volume, so it would make sense to write about the keyword with the higher search volume.

However, the SEO Difficulty is 82, which means it is difficult to rank with this specific keyword.

So, find a keyword that is as close to zero as possible regarding SEO Difficulty. Make sure it also has a high search volume as well.

Now that you have your ideas listed and your target keyword, you can write the blog post around your target keyword by stating it within the post and its synonyms.

4. Be strategic with your content design.

Each blog post should have an introduction, body, and conclusion. Make sure to separate them with subheadings to make them easier to read.

When I write an article, I usually start with the introduction, jump to the body, and write section by section. You can list the subheading of the section you want to write and add some paragraphs for this specific section.

It is always a good idea to write the blog post in a google document before adding it to WordPress. That way, you have a backup that you can get back to if you lose your content.

You should make sure that your content contains original content. It means no copy and pasting from another article.

Suppose you want to take some information from an article, state that you did. Otherwise, it would be plagiarism. Also, you should make sure to rephrase it in your own words. No copy and paste.

7. Edit, edit, and edit!

Make sure your post is free of error and readable. You can use many tools to help you with that, such as Grammarly and Hemingway App. I would recommend using both because each has a different purpose.

8. Be visual.

Make sure to add some pictures to your post. They do not only help with the blog appearance, but they also help with SEO.
